Art

CLAYDD empowers youth to be creative and work with their hands. We use natural, air-dry clay to express ourselves. There is no right or wrong way to use clay since the idea here is to create and express from within. As a moist or wet material, it is formable and moldable, and if it’s baked in the sun, the material hardens and can take a more solid form creating personalized pieces from our students.

Healing

Sound healing and meditation creates a safe space for children and adults to express their feelings and emotions in a vulnerable and positive way.  It promotes, self-expression, self awareness , community and connection. In addition, meditation teaches the skill-sets to help calm ones emotions and enhances self regulation and self healing.

Education

Depending on the level of the learner, we incorporate other mindfulness practices like stretches and hand yoga. We also do journaling after our meditation and encourage any written form of expression.

Leadership

CLAYDD Leadership and Training impacts Creative Wellbeing Learning Community Gathering – Creative Co-regulation with Neurodiverse Communities

The Creative Wellbeing Learning Community is a collaborative space for Los Angeles County practitioners who support youth to restore, build community, and experience healing-centered creative practices for both themselves and the communities they serve. Through interactive experiences with presenters from CLAYDD, Rhythm Arts Alliance, and Jazz Hands for Autism, participants will engage in embodied practices — including mindfulness exercises, breathwork with live drumming, and guided movement — that foster connection, accessibility, and collective care.
